Hold the burning herbs or smudge stick over the smudge incense burner, allowing the smoke to waft into the air.

Use a feather or your hand to fan the smoke around the area or person you want to cleanse or purify. When you’re done smudging, extinguish the herbs or incense stick by gently pressing it against the smudge incense burner. Make sure the fire is completely out before leaving the area.
